Right now, I am focusing on using virtual reality as a means to back up and make available historical and cultural sites to the public. Allowing anyone with a virtual reality headset to explore and interact with these locations. These locations are not only limited to interior spaces either. I am also working to capture and recreate large scale landscapes such as parks and Hiking Trails.
I am working to provide as accurate and realistic experience as possible to the user. In order to do this, I am working to use both photo-scans and manual reconstructions of sites to provide a 1 to 1 experience for what you would expect to find on site. One advantage of making these digital environments, is that we can work to create a narratively driven experience surrounding the location for the user, providing an unforgettable experience.
Right now, I am working with the Nunalleq Cultural Center in Quinhagak, Alaska, to recreate the museum. I am working alongside the archeological team to utilize their artifact laser scans to provide users the ability to pick up and learn about a vast array of artifacts.

I am also working on using gaussian spalts to offer tours of historical and cultural sites including hiking trails. This is a video of a local hiking trail I made a gaussing splat of and imported into unreal engine.
